An illustration for the upcoming BLACK INK HORROR #1. This one is for the story "Alison's Garden" which, although quite nasty and graphic, was strangely sad and poignant. Although there were many scenes in it that I could have exploited visually, I went for something a little more subtle (yes, believe it or not, this could have been much worse). I've been working really hard on making the compositions more interesting, hence the use of the hand in the extreme foreground and the positioning of poor Alison in the background. I hope it worked.
That's an absolutely brilliant piece; I think this is my favourite so far of your works! The details are beautiful, as are the compositional techniques you have used! Excellent work!
amazing work bro. the perspective definatly adds to the creepiness of it.
did she atleast get one shot in because i see a penis on the floor. very gruesome.
oh it works.this is cool dude.so many things to comment on this one.
rite away you know someone was an artist from the canvas's on the floor, and the floor. man dude how long did that take ?
i like the hand prints too.i don't know if that was art she was making or her bloody prints.i think its her bloody prints as they are as dark as the blood and not as light as the flowers.
the perspective rocks, brings a whole new dimension to the illo.it would still be a great drawing with out the hand but the hand brings so much more into it,makes one wonder what is going on and you want to read the story just from looking at the illo.that rite there is what its all about, bringing in the reader.i know from my own personal taste,if the illustration doesn't attract me ,i don't pay to much mind to the story .there should be alot of people reading this story. well done.
it does look like a penis on the floor but if you look closer i think its a heart.
great illo Tom.
