Illlustration for "Road Through Hell", which will appear in CHAMPAGNE SHIVERS 2008. This will mark the third year I've been able to contribute to this excellent horror magazine, so I'm really trying to pick it up a notch. My goal for this one was to work on more dynamic angles as most of my work seems pretty "staged" and boring lately.

10 x 7, pen and ink, approx. 14 hours.

Intense!

You made a good choice choosing to draw this with an angle; came out nice.
I love your details and shading on the front of the car. Your pen work looks so natural until you look real close and see the many hatched lines you used to execute a metallic looking object. All so fabulous!

Nice work on getting the right type of shading style to get that pavement texture just right. I notice you've been mixing up the styles with these new ones. Seems to be working out just fine.

Glad to hear that you are keeping busy and getting more work coming in. This gets a fav due to the style and the odd angle of the picture seeming to catch my eye. :thumbsup:

Yesss!!! Dude this is friggin' awesome. The perspective is ace, and I love the headlights. The amount of detail on the trees in the background is amazing and really adds a great sense of depth to the image. The texture of the asphalt is sick.

I definately agree with your description; these new submissions lately have greatly improved in detail, and the angles really give them a kick!! ^_^

Thank you! It's great to hear from you again, black. I'm glad that the inkwork on the car looks good. This is only the second car I've ever attempted, and I really wasn't sure how to go about it. Luckily, you can only see the hatching if you blow it up.
